Export shipments of cherries to the Chinese market from different countries of the world are very actively growing in recent years. Now in peak season the market of export products will join local farmers.

Thanks to the open period between the season of supply from the southern hemisphere and the beginning of the normal harvest of sweet cherry in China, the country is developing a new trend - greenhouse cultivation of sweet cherries in the North of the country.

"The price of cherries is still changing. In late February, the wholesale price for greenhouse cherries ranged from 200 - 400 yuan (about 31 to 62 per US dollar) per kilogram, but since the cost of cherries is reduced, although still at a high level." says Mr. Zhang from Jingcheng company Dalian Eco-Park Cherry.

Greenhouse cherries from Dalian will be on sale until the end of may.
